DOCSIS® 3.1 Compliant Networks Closer to Roll-Out with Chips Technology Circuits (CTC) new Ultra-Linear High Reliability 1218-MHz Gallium Nitride (GaN) Amplifier Module.  

DENVER, COLORADO, USA – September 24, 2014 - Chips Technology Circuits (CTC), headquartered in Bloomfield, NJ, a global stocking distributor and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) providing timely, reliable, and worldwide service and supply to the CATV, broadband, and telecommunications sectors today announced availability of its 1218-MHz rated Gallium Nitride (GaN) process based power doubler (PD) amplifier module at SCTE Cable-Tec Expo 2014.

CTC’s advanced GaN process based part number CHD1218230B4 is designed to empower cable and telco network major system operators (MSOs), small cable operators, and business-class multi-media signal distributors as they plan and build out cable and telco networks aiming to connect subscribers with DOCSIS® 3.1 capable content delivery.  DOCSIS® 3.1 networks promise operators and their subscribers more than six (6) times faster high speed data (HSD) rates than today while lowering operating costs and improving subscriber experience.  CTC’s GaN amplifier module is designed to meet new DOCSIS® 3.1 expanded downstream bandwidth, all-digital requirements at a low operating cost.

The CTC CHD1218230B4 is offered in the widely used cable infrastructure standard SOT-115 package and produces 23-dB gain at a rated radio frequency (RF) power output of +50 dBmV at 1218-MHz.  The CHD1218230B4 employs advanced Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology to provide subscribers with Artifact-FreeSM ultra high definition content.  The CHD1218230B4 is part of CTC’s growing portfolio of GaN technology based SOT-115 packaged modules that includes the 1-GHz rated CHD1000205B2 and CHD1000230B2 GaN power doublers.   CTC is actively developing new GaN technology DOCSIS® 3.1 compliant amplifier modules with a wide range of capabilities aimed at making it easy for network operators and in-building (IB) architects to deliver lowest-cost-per-bit-delivered content to thrilled subscribers.
